should work once you get the device (by calling AT&T) but you'll blow through 300mb before you know it & it'd better to stick to a 2GB plan IMO

The only problem would be that Amazon.com wants you to keep the original line active (and they will also tell you to keep the chosen data plan active on that line). Switching the phones is no problem!

the $50 upgrade pricing will Only work if you have a phone that's Eligible for an upgrade on a family plan... so in your case it won't work.
