The $30 5GB/100min prepaid plan is supposed to be only for "NEW" customers so most folks will in fact have to cancel the $50 plan if they sign up with that, then sign up again with the $30 plan. Dumb...

I am pretty sure any new prepaid customers have the options to switch to the $30 plan, its just the stores can not sell the new plan in retail channels.

You don't "cancel" you line, you simply go to your account online and change your plan to the $30 one. You can change your plan anytime, just have to make sure you have the funds if you are upgrading...
