If the new cards don't have an annual fee, why close them? I'd simply keep them open and use them at least once every six months of even the smallest purchases (just to keep them in your credit mix)...

Chase Marriott card is good for points and some of the American express cards are pretty good. I think I've heard things about the blue card. Also agree with Brian....no need to close them just...

That seems great in theory, but AA slaps a 700+ dollar "fueling fee" for across-ocean traveling. It's pretty bs. Their miles are best used between domestic/canada/carribean/central america. :\
