Very good deal. 128gb is a little small so 180gb is much better

Both amazon and newegg rebates are disappeared and no rebate can be found at ssdrebate.com. What's happening?

For what it's worth, I did several Intel rebates last summer and all came back super fast. No hassle at all.

Why would the prices go back up unless there is a severe shortage of memory chips which is unlikely. I'm waiting till these SSDs hit the 50cents/Gb mark. Hopefully they will by the time Black Friday...

Really the only difference between these and the 520s are the lifespan/warranty (3 yrs instead of 5) and I noticed a marginally lower random write speed in the benchmarks. For the lifespan issue,...

You should probably wait until you get the SSD anyway. The next section will most likely ask for the serial # or something on the box (otherwise you could order and cancel these and keep the rebate.)

Wow, I didn't know there was a data limit (or GB/day limit) on these. I guess it makes sense though, as they all have problems with longevity with the number of writes compared to the old...

Is Windows 7 smart enough to realize when you are using an SSD and turn of defrag and all that other stuff? Is the real world performance noticeably better than an HDD?
Post #50077464 added 05-15-2012 9:25 AM by mojohnnybravo in Archived Deals
no you have to manually configure all that. and real world performance indeed is noticeably better than HDDs but depends on what you do most actually. Itll help you boot ur comp up faster and...

This is a thicker SSD (9.5mm) so if you are getting him an ultrathin laptop, it probably will not fit. You need to make sure you get one that is not thicker than the space the laptop allows - if you...
