Surprising.. both models are still in-stock ... great...
I got myself a33 as it is 14MP, have tilt screen and its ISO 12800 and 7fps.. whereas a230 is 10MP, have ISO 3200 and slower fps rate..

The A55 was $430 new, but without lens. I grabbed one. The kit lens is pretty decent, so it's a good combo purchase.
Get whichever fits your hand better and preferably which brand your friends...

I would go with the a33/a55 as they have image stabilization in the camera which makes it much cheaper for lens later. Also you can get some great old Minolta lens that work perfectly. But you will...
