Save your money.
The mouse pad moves along with your mouse. The top fabric discolored rapidly, and does not offer good tracking to average mice (did not try with high end mice). Just my experience....

I got a couple of these from amazon a while back. It's pretty cheaply made and started coming apart within months. If you'll be using it everyday I'd get something better for a couple bucks more.

For reference, IKEA also has a mousepad for $0.99. I'm using one now.. though it also hasn't held up well. The fabric is peeling off the pad.

This will slow down a gaming mouse unpleasantly. I use a Razer eXactMat, and I've seen some very nice aluminum or glass mouse pads. Friction is for ball mice.
