This isn't the norm. You should only change rotors from abuse, poor maintenance of the brake pads , or in this very small case a rotor design flaw in a small segment of cars.

I don't know what pads you are using but at over 208K miles, my 1995 Ford Escort still has it's original rotors and they are perfectly fine and have never been turned.

Very True, good to great quality ceramic brakes can be had for $25-35 per set.People usually spend $120 to have them installed.

lifetime pads eat the rotors made today. i would bet 8 out of 10 need new rotors going by specs. its been that way since the 90's for me. my grand am gets rotors every 2 changes
