Wierd combo. I guess people will have to buy something lens in 15 to 18mm and greater focal length lenses to complement these 2 lenses. 50mm prime and 55-50mm zoom are not just wide or practical...

Even dismantling and selling components will net you down to about 700 so thumbs up but 55250 is a hell of a lens keep it if you get this

How is this compare to the Nikon d7000... been eyeing on a semi pro camera for a while...and this looks like a gooddeal enough to move to canon.

I moved from Canon to nikon back to Canon. could never get the colors to my tastes on the Nikon. This is shooting raw of course. I know there are pros out there that have no problems with Nikon....

Oh, and I've had the 50 1.8, 50 1.4, and almost every other lens (I'm a gear whore). The nifty fifty is essential in every kit even if you have the 1.4. It's light and cheap. Really cool for when you...

Keep the D5100 and buy yourself a 50mm. D5100 is no 60D but it's comparable to a T3i which is basically a 60D but a cheaper plastic version with slower shots/second and focus.

An odd lens combo, but, if you're gonna get something that covers your wider focal length, its a good deal

A great lens combo the 50 1.8 is one of the most essential lenses canon produces and a must have for low lighting I use almost all the time with my 7d

Second the recommendation for the Sigma 30mm 1.4 - That lens is freakin awesome on a 60d/t3i. Save some money and get the t3i (or even t2i) and instead spend it on the sigma. It will open up a world...

D7000 is not semi-pro. It is much more "pro" than a 60D. That D7000 was one of Nikon's top of the line cameras and has a lot more features than a 60D. Don't let the megapixels fool you.

Is this better than the Nikon D5100 deal from Amazon last weekend? I got D5100 + 18-55mm + 55-300mm + 32GB SD Card + backpack + remote for $898. I haven't received my order yet so I can still refuse...

nope. 50mm is not even close to human eye angle. research why the 50mm is so popular.

the 60d is much cheaper than the 7d, but is better than a t3i (better fps, better controls, better AF) 5DII is even more expensive with a crappier AF. 50mm is fantastic. the next step up is 3x...

The 60D is a significant upgrade from T2i with the top LCD, much better body (T2i looks and feels cheap plastic), flip out screen, etc. But this is not the best combo price-wise because you'll end...

I'm no pro, but my sense is that if you have to ask "what's better" between t3i/t2i and the 60D, you definitely don't need a 60D. :) the step up isn't anything special unless you KNOW what you need...
