Someone without the budget to shell out for two outfits wouldn't consider an L lens in the first place. Hence, my original suggestion to skip EITHER 1.4 lens and get the 35/2 which is the CHEAPEST...

I'm comparing the OEM AF options, reminding that there is a lower cost AF option that gives up 1.4, but retains AF. The 1.4 costs about a grand more, which is arguably not a worthwhile expenditure...

35/2 is only $300. It's a much better choice for most users. IMHO, getting a 1.4 lens is overkill, especially on APS-C. I have both the 1.4 and 1.8 for my camera (Sony), and the 1.8 gets most of...

Good points. You also forgot to mention the Rokinon is preferable for video. But if the 35/2 is that blurry at f/4, then it's a garbage lens that needs to be retired....or you got a bad copy. ...

I've had a MF 35/1.4 Rokinon and I didn't like it much. CA was significantly more than Sigma or Tamron (my current lens 1.8F). I managed to sell it on ebay. Of course, this is my personal experience.
