afaik it's in "read-only" mode, meaning you can't even write an e-mail and save it for sending later (once you have a connection)

Definitely not worth it. It's over 5 years old for sure. Get something with at least a Core 2 Duo at minimum.

I would say no, as beefcake said for $400ish u can find last years models at staples, we had a T42 at work and that was 3 lifecycles ago. Plus xp will soon enough no longer be supported.
