I am about to upgrade to a new 4G phone. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S. Once I have the new phone, is the old phone still useable as a tablet on WiFi? I want to give it to my kids to play with.

Yes it is, I got a Dell Streak 5 for free when I bought my xps and I use it as a tablet. Edit: some roms might want you to go though a setup wizard that tries to activate it, If you get to that...

Galaxy S as a tablet? I do appreciate the thought but the screen is not as big as you would like. It cannot suffice a tablet.
