A good way to brick your GPS if you screw it up

Good price . No lifetime map update kills the deals for me. 3.5" is a good enough size for a GPS IMO.

for long trips, yes. rather not use my phone battery for that. lifetime maps would be nice since it seems Garmin is offering that for all their newer models

Why not use SEARS2012 for $5 and ditch the lame $3 off code?

i have had a garmin for 8 years and i can say it always take 1-2 minutes to acquire satellite unless the device is already opened up (the back latch) on the dashboard, than it will take 10-25 secs

3.5" is perfectly fine. I can see my Garmin Nuvi 350 without an issue. This is a very basic unit anyways. I would be in for lifetime maps, but undependable lifetime traffic won't do it for me.

Does anybody know if there are Garmin units that allow you to search by zip? I know Magellan let's you do this and it is really key for me. Thanks.

Streets often confusingly laid out. Being able to see a map makes it pretty easy to understand where to go. When you reach a 5 way intersection and the GPS says turn right, which way are you...

Interesting. My TomTom does the same although not for that long. One time I just pulled over for a second and held it up to 'help' it get signal. :look:

And at least for me, I don't prefer a wider screen for a GPS. I don't want to see more of what's on the sides of me, rather more of what's in front of me.

While I appreciate that you might disagree with me, my thinking cannot possibly be "flawed" as it is, in fact, an opinion. You may be fine with a unit that is 23% smaller; I am not. I...

I love my TomTom but there is a major flaw -- typically 2 minutes after entering your destination information, it is still looking for the satellite. (Is this typical for other brands?) I am...

Some notes for others since I have seen a lot questions: -3.5 inch screen will look A LOT smaller than a 4.3 or 5 inch. If I were to spend any amount of 'extra' money for a feature, it would...

Yes, you are correct. Only the traffic is free for life. The updated maps would still have to be purchased.

Your thinking that a 4.3 is all that much larger than a 3.5 is flawed. It's not Compare a 25 in tv with a 32 in wide screen. Not a lot of difference. Just shaped different

"The compact nüvi 2250LT delivers free lifetime traffic updates for delays on your route" To be clear - this isn't the same as updated maps it is? Does you have to buy updated maps ever?
Post #50716426 added 06-04-2012 8:45 AM by rahd001 in Archived Deals
It's 2012, not 2102. Not WAY to small, but after getting used to a 4.3 or a 5, that would be tough. The price makes it a tough one to turn down also.

Anyone come across a good deal on a TomTom? Have 2 Garmins. That's 2 mistakes too many.
