I paid my Travelers Insurance bill and it did not work for the 5%. Not sure why since State Farm and Hartford have been mentioned.

You're right.
When they issue you a lower tier card and mail it, is the account for that active and reporting to Experian, Equifax, etc.? Or can you avoid that by not activating the card?

You can't pay a credit card bill with a credit card, not with the bill pay feature either. Balance transfer is not considered as bill payment so you wouldn't get cash back even if there was a no-cost...

I have the "Business" card and receive 5% for gas and cellular. It was a targeted mail offer though. If you have a business you might be able to get the same.

I am told to just do it the way you'd pay utility with any other card - through the utility's site. As long as the merchant category code is correct, you'll have the 5%.

Google NPSL - no preset spending limit. IIRC, they report the highest balance and not the credit limit for NPSL cards. The highest balance is then used as part of utilization.
