Just bought a 3TB. I am looking for some best practices in the initial formatting and setup of the external HDD. Any pointers / articles on this topic? Thanks!

I just read the reviews on Staples and in the "cons" listing was "no power switch". That means unplugging the drive from an outlet whenever you want to turn it off. I also don't see any mention...

Do you know how to read? He said one year. Unless all this is happening in one year, all that stuff you said is irrelevant to what I'm saying about his post.

read http://www.staples.com/coupons and you'll see that #2 is not a valid point ;)

Nice! I got this drive for $45 earlier this year from staples during the last deal, for $55 this is more than decent and it's worked fine for my needs~!
Do you think this is a conflict with the external enclosure or the hard drive itself?
Post #50866512 added 06-10-2012 8:22 AM by Joe_Key in Archived Deals
Great deal. Cost me $60 after coupon and tax. Not many deals on HDD anymore, just SSD so glad I found this, ty OP.
There is an Amazon review that says 5400rpm, a Staples review that says 5900rpm, but a bunch of websites selling the same model advertising 7200rpm.

Less platters means higher data density and usually faster drives, at a given RPM.
