I am pretty sure that all Windows based units are using iGo maps, but I could be wrong.
You can go into your unit's settings and it should tell you what maps you have and what version is...

On the Garmins (at least the ones I've used) you can zoom out and in, but not really change the 3D angle at all.

You can put larger map sets onto an SD card. Getting them there is another story and walks a fine line some may not be willing to walk.
