You should have called after the port was complete to cancel. I have had them prorate service when canceling lines outright.

What I have done is when I know im going to port I call earlier in the day and say cancel my contract the following day. Never had an issue.
Edit now that I remember, t-blo-mo had in the contract...

just sue in small claims court. Just fill out the form and sent it to Verizon. (might make some additional on the side).
