IMO, a PW really should not be used to wash a car unless you are just talking about wheels. Paint finish on a car is softer than you think and a PW can very easily wreck it. Anything more powerful...

It's 1600 psi not Watts. And 1600 pounds compressed into 1 square inch sounds pretty powerful to me... Certainly more than enough to blow some dirt and grime off. The reviews confirm this.
