no matter what, the copper does conduct heat evenly. while it was on the pan it did it's job. No where near as good as copper core but it did heat evenly across the bottom

^----- this is what you want. aluminum core is good too. copper can hold more heat than aluminum but as far as even heat distribution AL or CU cores are the way to go.
