Nice find by the OP, but I think putting high end grates on a low end BBQ is a waste of money. Heat output and distribution, and control are at least as important.

and don't buy t-bones... for starters... i use a cast iron skillet on top of my tec grill... gets it almost red hot - i much prefer a solid cast iron surface to cook a steak than any grill.

There's a big long thread on one of the BBQ forums about these. Most who've tried both seem to prefer these to Mangrates. There's a lot of good reviews. That said, I'm not sure I see the need....

I have a Weber, and I prefer to pan-fry my steaks. Grilling is good; get that char taste, but pan-fried ribeyes beat any grilled steak, IMO. Damn, now I'm hungry again. :D Pan frying...I bet...

While I understand why you would logically think this way, in practice it simply isn't true. Cast Iron is such a poor conductor of heat that even with pre-heating the grill, you will still get hot...
