the screen, missed calls, texts, email and facebook alerts show up as if nothing happened to it...I just can't get the touch screen to slide the lock...:(

I agree, it should dry for days. Alcohol might actually help (93%) since it will help to displace the water. Distilled water is not good at this point and not recommended at all, alcohol will work...

Rice works. I had Nokia phone which got drenched in rain. It wasn't working but a couple of days in the rice helped turn on.
