I don't know where you people are getting this credit report pull from. I have three checking accounts, one of them ING, I've never had a hard pull of my credit report for a checking account.

I've gotten 1 checking, 1 savings total ever. i've gotten 2 Sharebuilder bonus total. I think you can get only 1 saving and checking total ever but 've never tried to get more so i'm not 100$ sure....

I used to have an ING account and switched to DollarSavingsDirect. The interest payout on ING is .2%. At DSD, it's .7%. That's over triple the interest. I suppose if you're just depositing

You can go to most banks and get a cashier's check (you don't need to be a customer or have an account). Just pay the fee and you will get a cashier's check (i.e., at Chase, etc.).

Theres a chance of overspending when you have a checking account and they're essentially extending you credit. If you overspend then they're going to want means to collect their money back.
