One trick I found is if you go on a cruise, you can use the slot machines as cash machines without incurring a fee or penalty. At least on Carnival.

My trick is just to spend the money I normally would on the card I need the spending requirements for :).
Since we routinely spend about $3k/month on normal expenses, I've never had a problem...

No, you cannot do this. Paying off a credit card with another is called a balance transfer and will not count towards you're required spending.
