You're lucky, apparently that model has a rep for bad capacitors...Sceptre is very low end stuff and is a prime example of getting what you pay for.

Sceptre was well-known for manufacturing some of the better LCD computer monitors. I still have a 19-inch Sceptre X9S-Naga that's going strong, and it's about eight years old, now.

Yes, Walmart 90 days return policy is great. I bought this TV and returned it because the sound wa horrible and the problem with breaking up the screen. BTW, TV is not slim at all. That is misleading.
