as I mentioned in my previous post, certain defrag strategies can take much longer than others. It all depends on what the program intends on accomplishing.

As mentioned, I don't know the program, but 2 1/2 hours does sound extreme for any defragger, given your circumstances.
Check your PM's. I sent you a message.

This looks like it will take 14 hours for my 228 GB...

Defraggler has helped us a lot in situations where the built-in defrag isn't getting the job done.
Do you have the...

OK, well, there would have been no need to reboot, so no problem there.
You already know 2 of the potential problems that slow down a defrag program, and the 3rd one that comes to mind is if the...

I would tend to think so, given that we have now established that the OP's hard drive is good and healthy and not very full.
If not, I can only think of two possibilities. Either he still has a ton...

I'm guessing that's part of the issue. It's also possible that the algorithm for reorganization on defraggler could be completely different than the last program you used, so it wants to move...

longer defrag may be due to how the program is defragging. The simplest defrag process merely connects files together that have been fragmented, but doesn't pay any attention to where the files are...

The estimator could be completely wrong, try running it and see how long it actually takes. You might also take a look at the SMART readings of the HD. It might be on its way out

It runs in the background and automatically defrags when your PC is idle.
