you can get full reports (no score) at annualcreditreport.com for free once a year from all three CRAs. I'd tell them to buy the scores themselves.

Agreed. I wasn't insinuating that a fee should be paid, only that it was common practice. Most of them want to obtain the report themselves to ensure it is authentic and unaltered.
