It's probably 5 or 6 years old if I had to guess. I'll open it up again tonight and look at the coonections but I'm pretty sure there was no molex there at all. Everything was sata powered

You got a link that shows the Inspiron 530 had molex? All the PDF manuals I've found from dell do not show molex and I didnt see it in the case either but will check it again tonight

SATA to molex adapters are a dime a dozen. so if you truly have no molex connections in your PC, just use an adapter.

Is it a few years old? Your optical drive has molex. You can you use a Y splitter off that just fine to power this hub.

I agree, that would work, and I have never seen a PSU without molex. Perhaps it's modular and the molex pieces are in the box yet?

You can use a Y splitter if you have another molex in the system. http://www.amazon.com/Computer-Molex-Power-Supply-Splitter/dp/B001PI9AAC My bad. Never seen a power supply without molex.
