It's amazing what an SSD can do for your computer. Good to see prices per GB dropping. By the time I upgrade my desktop, they may be well worth getting

I expect we'll be finding these in cereal boxes pretty soon. Friends don't let friends buy OCZ products. My last two builds got hosed by an ocz SSD that kept dumping its data, then they wanted...

I paid 200$ for this drive a few months ago and it works fine. IMO, any modern ssd, including sandforce ones shouldn't fail.

Please don't make posts like this if you don't know what's really going on behind the scenes. Intel in particular is well known for reserving their best bins for themselves--the highest-quality...

Can you elaborate on which drives failed on you and when you bought those drives? It is true that early on, the Agility 3 and Vertex 3 lines had many BSOD and stability issues caused by an immature...

its not technically DRAM, its NAND FLASH but yes, OCZ failure rates are around 7%, seems low, but when you compare to other companies (intel with 0.5% failure), 7% is a high number for SSD...

This is a great deal. Good drive. The problems in the past have been fixed. I wonder if these drives drop in price after OCZ becomes part of Seagate. I bet they could afford to take lower GM's in...

see this link, the binning really makes how many P/E Cycles the NAND has, so they are not really lower grade NAND it just that it has shorter life cycle (let us say 8 years vs 13 years) ...

My experience is in line with others, I jumped on a 60GB Agility 3 a month ago at a very good price and spent the next 2 days trying to get Windows 7 installed on it. BSOD, failures all over the...

Can you elaborate a bit more? What brand/model & firmwares did you use when your OCZ drive failures occurred? What operating system did you use them on? Did you do a fresh OS install? Did you...

I doubt it. When Western Digital & Seagate bought Hitachi & Samsung HDD's the prices just went up on HDD's. HDD makers buying SSD's seems like it would drive prices up by reducing competition. If...

it is not really the NAND which is causing the issues, it is their firmware (which talks to the NAND and the controller). they also use Intel/Micron NANDs, so definitely it is not the NAND.

Great deal. The firmware on these was fixed toward the end of 2011; with the failure rate now being similar to other Sandforce ssd's instead of the obnoxious failure rate on the old firmware. My...

Hope this isn't OT, but don't these drives have terrible reviews? Most people don't have much fault tolerance for their data storage.

I had an OCZ Solid 3. Even with the latest firmware it BSOD after sleep. It's good though that people still believe in them. I ditched mine on ebay to a true believer.

Were you referring to the first or second of his statements? The large, well publicized, issues were most definitely firmware. I'm guessing the second since the link seems related to that.

Okay I understand you now. Yes the blue screens and stuff were probably mostly firmware related. I am not disagreeing at all. I was commenting on your "they use Intel/Micron NAND" statement, which...
