Yes, should not be a problem. Know that a lot of apps won't work since it can't run some of the newer versions of iOS.

Your going to connect it to the internet via wifi not the carrier so it will work. Just be mindful of what we said about the apps. It will still work to browse the internet and play music.

It's probably going to be close to nonfunctional. 3.1.3 is the latest version for the iPhone 2G, so most (if not all) current apps will not run.
