They do seem to be Chinese. But according to the description "Kershaw offers free lifetime sharpening". Seems like it would be a pain to send it in if you know how to sharpen your own knives properly...

Made in China. Inferior quality to the American Kershaw. Not just a logistical difference. They are decent for cheap knives. Not quite what you expect from Kershaw though.

I have the Asset and the spring assist is cute but no faster than flicking a normal knife open with your thumb or forefinger.

I bought two a couple of weeks ago for $12 (or so) - this is a surprisingly good knife - sharp as hell and it has some heft to it.
Definitely worth the money IMHO.
