You want to buy sardines from the North sea and surrounding areas, preferably Scotland. Any other areas you are not getting the best( cleanest) safest tastey sardines.

I bought a box of these thinking that they were the small kind (which I prefer) and ended up getting a lot of the big fish. I personally prefer King Oscar sardines with the smaller fish.

Bought 7.5 oz cans on amazon a while ago, and all of them had a lot of scales. Once you clean them up, they taste ok.

100% agree... best quality/taste around... double layer in extra virgin olive oil.....they cost 2.50 a can at my local walmart... wish I could buy them in bulk somewhere and get the price down....

They're nasty in tomato sause. Keep in mind this comes from a guy that eats a few cans of the smoked in olive oil (subscribed) variety per week and hates any type of canned tomato sause.
