We have a galaxy tab 2 7, and a nexus 7 and for most people I'd say the galaxy tab is good enough. The ir remote feature is cool if you wanna use that, same with the rear camera. The speed is good...

Really depends on your needs...the Cowboom deal is an older tablet but features 3G access built-in; to compare specs you'd have to look up each tablet.

Apart from screen, the screen size is also 7", don't know why they decide to come up with 7" screen size when everyone else is coming up with either 10.1" or 9".

The galaxy tab 2 is way better. Dual core, more ram. Itll be much faster and chances are you will barely use the 3G, or if you really need it just get a mobile hotspot that can be used with anything

I agree. I have a Nexus 7 and the old Galaxy Tab 7, and there's no comparison. The Samsung screen is so much brighter and the colors more vivid.
On the other hand, I'm not a fan of Samsung's...

If you want to be stuck with the software it comes with, then by all means buy the Samsung. If you want to continue to receive prompt updates for at least a couple of years, then get the Nexus.

There's no reason to buy this with the Nexus 7. Should be cheaper.
Dual Core ARM Cortex A9 is not exactly future proofed. Just enough to run Jelly Bean efficiently.

The MicroSD is the only saving grace for the Samsung... I would think you need to get at least a 16G Nex model, I can't imagine only having 8G on a tablet. The spec on the Nexus sounds really nice...
