Wow, all this talk about iLife made me think I should check to make sure the backup discs were included in my box (I'd just assumed they were in there). NOPE! No discs at all! Now I'm...
I got a Like New one yesterday and I was also disappointed. There was a minor scuff on the front. The LCD still had the film on it though. The keyboard was dusty. It wasn't registered with Apple, but...

Got my "like new" MBP today and it's been used :( Has 9 cycles on the battery, the box is not in terribly good shape (despite what I understood "like new" condition to mean), and most importantly...

I don't think the one I received was registered to Apple either, but I'm not sure. All I know is that when I went to check the warranty it said that they needed my proof of purchase. Does that mean...

I find it odd that PC people will always threadcrap on Apple "deals". The reason I like Macs would be the easy updates for software and that I hardly ever get viruses (12 years and 2 viruses, 1...

I would personally go with ivy bridge macbook pro. It is the newer version and has an upgraded video graphics HD4000 along with 15% ivy bridge processor bump. If I am not mistaken Ivy bridge creates...

In another post you had said you purchased a 2012 Macbook pro for $999 then had a 256gb ssd installed and upgraded the ram to 16gb for $90. I was a little confused on that. Did the ram cost $90,...

tbh i think this is mediocore at best. new ones can be had under 999, might as well invest just a tad more for a brand new for the newer version

Thanks for the reply. I bookmarked those two ram links, and found the B&H ssd deal. Great idea, you are basically upgrading to 16gb ram and ssd for $280 more. I don't have a frys locally, and it...

Can you explain this iLife thing and how you were able to get $140 back? I literally have not used a mac in 9 or 10 years so all of this software and Apple's methods are completely unfamiliar to me.

Yeah! iLife (Garage Band+iPhoto+iMovie) are advertised with the MBP. I contacted online support and explained to them that the software was not included with the computer. After a few minutes, the...

I just ment a large part of apples cost is the OS.
According to Amazon: Like New - A "like new"" item sold on Warehouse Deals is in perfect condition, but due to the condition of the packaging, it does not meet Amazon.com standards for new product....
