I agree with the above poster, try out something like the Canon S100. You'll lose zoom, but the camera is capable of great IQ. They tend to be slow on the telephoto end, aside from the XZ-1.

Regardless, the pics don't look very good. Also cramming a high amount of MPs onto a small sensor can create noise in the pics.
