I tend to buy games about 1 year after they have been released an wait until they go on sale. Therefore they are usually pretty cheap. If I don't like the game, I tend to stop playing and move on.

15 hours is a bit much I think. I hated several games after far less time, and it was well deserved. If a game can't get good until 15 hours in, I honestly want nothing to do with it.

Once you've learned the controls I'd give it an hour maybe two tops before I chuck the game. That kind of what I did with Rift.

I start using cheat codes when I get tired of a game. I try to keep my rule of beating games I buy. At the very least, I can speed through games that would have normally taken a much longer time.

Well, alot of the games I play are 60-70 hours. I understand what you're saying though and I'm guilty of giving up on a game way too quick. Example: Skyrim after 3 hours. :(
