Not sure about the fit, but I think the n7 needs to be rooted to get USB storage to work. Other devices work without rooting (if they're compatible of course).

Nope. Both of my touchpads have microUSB connectors. Always have. This should work with TP, depending on what you want to use it for, and whether or not your software supports the activity.
