DVD drive inclusion is a con? If it lacks it, some people might find it not attractive, but if it's included, you shouldn't complain.

It's a con if you want less weight. When I'm traveling, I rarely need the drive.

You won't get 6.5 hours of battery life. ~4 hours in stamina mode and ~2.5 hours with the dedicated graphics card on.

Hmm, thanks for that. The doc that you referenced shows max memory of 8gb. Although that should be plenty, I would rather bump it to 12gb if I am going for it. I wonder.

If the form factor is anything like this, I am thoroughly impressed. Easy access to both memory and hard drive for ram upgrade and SSD upgrade. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNfjJYr49T0

I'm on the fence about this. It's kinda a toss up. Sony Store has the S series with 3rd gen Ivy bridge for $899. You can get the free PS3 (as a student) and also a gift card of $100 to $150.
