Sorry if this a tad off topic from the original deal. Going by the specs, RAM won't really help. With 2GB, that's more than enough for XP. Heck, my work laptop only has 2GB on XP and doesn't...

One day I'll understand why people debate so much over minute differences in performance, but care nothing about the lack ECC which seems to be the trend in memory for the desktop...

Good price. But I think I still prefer 4x Samsung 28nm. They easily run at 1600 speeds. Unless you want more than 16 GB of ram.

I seriously doubt you got 8 GB sticks for $20 AR. You may have gotten an 8 GB kit (2 x 4 GB sticks) for $20 AR. The cheapest I've ever seen an 8 GB stick go for is $29.99 AR a few weeks ago at...

8GB sticks tend to cost more than 4GB sticks, like brownnote said, some motherboards only have a few DIMM slots. Personally, this beats my 3x 2GB that I had for 2+ years and my constant 'Low on...

Ah, well then I must of confused IamPro's reference. Not bad either. If I were going with 4GB sticks though I would have waited for BF though, those have gotten deals under $60 (4x 4GB).

This deal is not that great, frankly. $70 is acceptable for 8GB sticks, but otherwise [email protected] is unremarkable. You could get some Patriot G2's and undervolt and underclock them and get the same...

Unless you really need 16GB for some reason (i.e. working with ridiculously huge raw photo files in photoshop) you're better off with faster 8GB ram. Just upgraded to those 30nm samsung sticks and...

You can't use DDR3. You would need to upgrade the mobo that supports DDR3.

True, but some people's mobos only have 2 slots....not a bad price, but I personally would do it or a couple bucks more for 1600mhz.

Lol, well everyone has a hunch how that 'deal' is going to play out. I thought this was a pretty good price though considering it's 8GB modules.
