Snaps should last a lot longer but they're not as convenient...takes longer to put the diaper on the baby. But ultimately they're the way to go...velcro wears out too fast.

I second the advice to not put all your eggs in 1 basket. I have cloth diapered 3 children now, and would recommend to never buy more than 2 of one diaper unless you have tried it. All 3 of my kids...
