I have a lowepro sling backpack (without laptop compartment). I have had it for almost 4 years now and finally gave up. The sling model is convenient to pull your camera out, but it really hurts...

Only disadvantage is you cannot store your camera body & 70-200 f/2.8 lens if you have that sort of combination. If you are just casual photographer with just 2 zooms + prime, kata should work fine.
