If you're on the fence, another review, and his quick flickr page. Also, nice Amazon reviews, as well. Very tempted. I'd be using it on a PM1 too, essentiall what this guy is using.

It's a prime, so yeah but at a fifth of the cost of the panny 7-14mm and a third of the oly 9-18mm it's hard to beat...and it is smaller. As it is my kit lens stays at 14mm and the only time I've...

u know - this is cheaper than the panny 7-18 but don't u guys feel it's a bit of a one trick pony?

The thumbnail looks like a jar of night cream. I have been ignoring it from the frontpage until just now. Anyone feels the same?

From the pictures I've seen taken with this, to me, it seems like this lens is far more versatile on the m43 platform than I would normally expect from a fisheye...I will find out soon.

BuyDig Rokinon 7.5mm F/3.5 Ultra Wide Fisheye Lens for Micro Four Thirds (Panasonic Micro Four Thirds or Olympus PEN) $239 with code PhotoPro60 free shiipping

There are 3 magnify options, but yeah...420k dot pitch is limiting....especially in very light or dark conditions.

I dunno how you can say that. The 14-42mm serves as a good quality body cap. It's ok...but IQ isn't very good.

my understanding is that depth of field on fish eye lenses is huge even at large apertures so, it probably won't be that hard.
Post #52359028 added 08-10-2012 1:26 AM by emrldwpn in Archived Deals
Not an issue for most situations; at f/5.6 and focused at 10 ft away, the depth of field extends from 1.79 ft to infinity. http://www.dofmaster.com/dofjs.html

looks good. resale value seems about $230-$240, so at this price you can try it for almost nothing in case you end up not liking it.

I really wish that 14-140mm zoom lens would go on sale
Post #52337852 added 08-09-2012 8:14 AM by Falqon in Archived Deals
Definitely, I've rented them and to be honest it's rare to have a shot where a fish eye is the best lens to use in a situation, but sometimes they are awesome and completely unique. The question...

This is by all accounts a fine lens, but beware that fisheyes are very situational. If you're just thinking of casual fisheye use, there are adapters you can mount on other lenses that are quite...

thank you. those are some seriously sharp pictures in the sample gallery a few links ago. was not sure if I wanted to build up a MFT ecosystem if you will, but that sharpness is seriously inviting

how would you verify focus on a Lumix GF3 that has no OVF or EVF ? there's no way you can tell something's in focus through the LCD screen

You two and OP are just responsible for my being $240 poorer. I wasn't going to buy it until I saw those pictures. I hate you guys!

wish the code worked for the 8mm Rokinon for canon :(

Very nice lens, but be aware it is manual focus only, and either manual or aperture priority exposure control only. No auto-focus, and no full auto-exposure. With a fisheye, that's not usually a...

Interesting. In the old days Rokinons were made both in Japan and in Korea. This lens apparently was made in Korea. Excellent quality, though.

Amazon sellers have them as low as $447. I bought mine a year ago used at $550 and don't regret it.

Yes, at $39 this would be a very slick deal. That's the only part of your post that makes any sort of sense.

This lens is a LOT of fun. Gimmicky for sure, but lots of fun to take set hyperfocal and start messing around with.
