If you read the quoted response, the question I quoted/responded to asked how much it would be worth in cash. I did read the OP but he wasn't asking about equivalent rewards.

Hmmm...this is an interesting question. Every other card I've gotten has been tied to an airline, so once the spending requirement has been met, the miles were mine and I was free to cancel the card....
