Tax almost kills it for me... 200$ after rebate, and I don't care about games - have them already. But I need new card :S My 4 old 5770 hardly keeps up with the new games, even with solid overclock. ...

I have the Sapphire version of this card and used it for Eyefinity (three 1600x1200 monitors) without any issues. I later switched to single 2560x1440 monitor and two side 1600x1200 monitors without...

;P Its all good. XFX was a bunch of glorious flamboyant bastards for the longest time. Pity they lost the glorious part at some point recently. Still not bad products that said. Saphire... Has...

A lot of times, the hardware is the same. There's literally just a bit toggled in the card's BIOS that identifies it as "consumer" or "pro". Then the card runs appropriately. It's kind of well...

neo eco? 620c? Thats what i got. That psu should be able to handle just about any one single card. Great psu except antec screwed me on the rebate

SH!TBALLS! These always pop up AFTER I buy a new video card. With a rebate and the money you can make selling the games, this is SLICK.

I could be wrong, I stuck with AMD because they were the only ones with native triple monitor output on a single card and Eyefinity gaming. Unless things have changed on nVidia side.

As you said, Reference. This is no reference design.

Hmm, I would like to wait longer to see if better deals come out, but honestly video cards are somewhat of an enigma to me the last few years since the best prices for cards have been around this...

But does the sapphire card have the games along with it? I've been pondering on if I should get this to pair with my unlocked reference 6950, or wait for a 6970 to go down this low with games. Need...

Basically all of the newer 6950's CANNOT be unlocked to 6970. Not like it made much of a difference anyway. But still, a very powerful card.
Post #52382402 added 08-10-2012 11:53 PM by MeatCatalog in Archived Deals
I don't know what you're talking about - a 6970 is a good 15% faster than a 6950 in games and in folding. If you can get a 15% gain for free, thats a pretty good deal!

yes it is indeed amazing, more than $10 cheaper than the latest FP deal, and it is a good card. seems like a no-brainer if your computer can handle it and you are looking for such a card.

I own video cards by both companies, so I'm not a fanboy for either. The real shame is I remember when XFX was one of the names people looked for indicating warranty/quality/customer service (not the...

You are not getting a 6970, you are just getting a few shaders changed. You would get around 2-3fps boost. Not as much as you think.
Post #52382642 added 08-11-2012 12:26 AM by MeatCatalog in Archived Deals
Sorry no. An unlocked 6970 can overclock to 930 / 1500 and yes the extra shaders make a huge difference, not 2 to 3 fps. Source: I own an unlocked MSI 6950 reference card. The difference in fps is...

Do yourself a favor and buy a cheap SSD drive for your system drive and keep the 2TB for storage. Upgrade will be well worth it to enjoy the speed of the machine.
