your best bet would be building an htpc, you can do it for 400 or less and using an xbox for your bedroom set up as an extender which would allow you to watch all your recorded content and live tv,...

Have you tried auto rip n compress? It converts the DVDs to MKVs then saves them to a Media Center native WTV format. It is working pretty well for me, I started digitizing my collection this week...

I don't compress, just reauthor to pull the main movie off. I'll use another product to compress. I use a PlayOn with tubecore to stream netflix from the MC to the extenders. Not as smooth...

You're confusing terminology. OTA means 'over the air' as in, with an antenna, broadcast through the air to your antenna down to a tuner. Plugging your Comcast cable into the device you currently...
