Correction to my previous statement: Only the Envy 15 has an IPS screen. The Envy 17 is Radiance Display, but not IPS.

There are codes out there, but I'm not aware of any % off ones at the moment. Those tend to be the best deals if you are doing upgrades.

Incorrect... what HP calls their 'Radiance Full HD Infinity LED-backlit Display' is indeed an IPS panel. The Radiance display is a feature available for Envy 15, 17, and 14 SPECTRE.

I would've gotten this over the Dv6t had I gotten in one of these 33% off coupons in time. It's an excellent laptop, one of the best values you can get for any windows laptop at any price. A vast...

So what don't folks like about owning an Envy? I was thinking of one as a desktop replacement, but then saw that battery is integrated, so wouldn't my having it plugged in all the time eventually...

This laptop is most similar to the Asus N56VZ in terms of specifications, hardware, price, and design. I would choose the Asus due to being lighter and a little less expensive (Asus - $1090 total, HP...

so as long as you don't need raid and don't care about configuring boot order, this is the one to go with? Im somewhat conflicted as the DV7 allows for RAID, and for boot order configuration, as...

Yep, that laptop has a better BIOS also which allows RAID and other options computer users are accustomed to. Not sure why they left it out with the Envy 17. Strange.
