2 reason's: 1) SanDisk makes their own memory so they can sell cheaper than other brands using the same controllers and 2) because it uses a SandForce controller

Your ECS mobo should have a Marvell SATA 2 controller. Are you running Windows XP? It does not have TRIM. Get a Crucial M4 instead, they have garbage collection built into the firmware.
