Cheap spinning hard drives are about the same price as this. If you don't need more than 90GB (most ppl don't), then we're getting to the point where an ssd is actually the cheaper option.

I've got a 60GB Agility 3 in May and my system has been running fine since then. the drive originally had firmware 2.15 and I upgraded it to 2.22 in June / July, so I didn't get to see all the bugs...

You'll have to make sure that your laptop takes Sata drives not parallel. 5 years is most likely after all manufacturers started using Sata drives. What's your laptop make and model #?
