To buy or not to buy .... Amazon US price went up by $20 and UK price is still the same and less expensive. Goes back to whether it does not matter to me about the region B QOS (since I have the US...

Just curious, is this Bond 50 set a limited edition? It seems to be sold out almost everywhere. Glad I grabbed one during Amazon's $99 Gold Box sale, but I'm wondering whether this is going to be...

Any difference in Picture Quality and Bonus Content between Bond 50 US Blu and UK Blu (besides mono ST and QOS)?

the hitchcock set looks pretty disappointing imo. aside from lacking north by northwest, it's missing rebecca, notorious, strangers on a train, dial m for murder and a ton of other much better...

It's not "missing" the movies you mention. They are not Universal movies so any Hitchcock fan with interest in buying this probably already knows this so wasn't expecting them.

your disappointment is misguided exactly this is an amazing set at just under $10 per movie I already had the "standard" set pre-ordered from the UK but props to the OP for taking the time to...

EDIT to OP in Bold type A note of caution since none of these sets have been released/reviewed - there is a high likelihood that all these sets will be Region Free and completely compatible with US...

Glad I waited on the Universal Monster US Set. In for the coffin case. Amazon uk strikes again....

Wow, all three of these look tempting! I'm on the fence about the Bond set (I've already got them all on DVD), but I'm in for the other 2. Reps OP! Great find! Edit: Nah, in for all 3. ;) I have...

us amazon started taxing sept 15, at least here in cali. So there will be tax even if you pre-ordered it prior to the 15th as you are paying past the 15th unfortunately. Shipping should still be...

If I remember it should say something like Wrong Region or Wrong disc type. QOS was manufacturered by a different company initially and was region locked then. Unfortunately most of the older...

James Bond: 50 Years of Movie Posters from Amazon US just dropped from US$31.xx to $27.17.

Everything out so far indicates that the movie and extras should be the same. QOS appears to be the only movie that may be locked. To accommodate all the extra audio tracks the Euro discs leave...

Holy cow, that's great! I see that Amazon price has dropped to $179.99, and the bonus book is no longer included. As they are now charging tax in California, I will be cancelling the order and going...

I don't think anything the Fed has done in the last year has changed the exchange rate much. The Bond 50 price hasn't changed more than 2 pennies in 6 months -- the Amazon UK list of £90 is exactly...

Since I am ok with QOS being Region B as I already have the US Blu-ray copy, it is now a question of getting the UK version because it is less expensive (but no original audio tracks) or sticking...

Also it looks like Amazon.com has now dropped the book from order after 9/20. if you ordered prior to that date it appears you'll get the book and may also the lower price though there is some...

Amazon UK is OOS for the Alfred Hitchcock: The Masterpiece Collection - Limited Edition ... at least for now. Mine is still in my open orders waiting for the ship date.

okay. so my order from the uk is coming, and I've never ordered anything internationally before. If I put in QOS in my ps3, will it just say "Can't be read"/"This is the wrong region" type error? Or...

In case anyone is interested, Amazon US has dropped their price from $179.99 to $149.99 to probably match Best Buy.

Thanks for checking. Was there any earlier mention that Dr. No was not region free? The Amazon UK description indicated that Dr. No was region free. Glad that the bonus disc was playable.

So just to let everyone, I got home and just ripped the packaging open. I can confirm. Dr.No and the Bonus content works on US PS3, however QOS does not. As I stated before, I personally can live...

No, the only disc confirmed locked was QOS. Amazon still has the Bonus disc as locked though it's been confirmed multiple times to be Region Free. Amazon has always listed all the other movies...

Everything I can find on the Bluray discussion groups say the set is now officially Out of Print so the time is probably gone past for $100 price points for new sets.

Back from the Dead. The discs and Bonus content is virtually video and bonus content. The US set has pretty much come down to equal in price if you;'ve caught a couple of the deals over BF. ...

Still a bit before orders are shipped. Prices have been relatively stable, but a couple new details are drifting out. The Limited Edition UK Hitchcock boxset is coming on/off line for order...

didn't take into account the studio rights issues, so i suppose it is a bit misguided. but as someone that favors the 40s hitch, i suppose the set is a bit disappointing.

I think you are right and edited the OP. It's so hard to tell in the pictures what is the Disc hold book and the commemorative book. The UK Monsters Coffin set is even more confusing in that...

Those of us that are anal retentive about using words properly know that anal != anal retentive. Unless you enjoy things that pertain to the anus, then as you were.

That I can't say for sure. I want to say there were some pieces of the extras on the Ultimate DVD sets and the 2 disc standalones sets that weren't carried over, but I haven't too many people that...
