That is interesting - I didn't know Pioneer was changing the design. Seems like a lot of people these days like speakers with no grills, so the new models might appeal in that respect. Although,...

The center needs to be timbre matched to the fronts, so if you have the matching speakers in this series, the C21 is great, but I wouldn't recommend it as an arbitrary center. It's also fairly...

On the fence: How much of an improvement would I see if I used these to replace the fronts from the Onkyo SKS-HT540 set (which I guess I'd move to the rear)? Thanks!

Floorstanding should give you a little better lows and mids. If you have the room I'd go for the floorstanding. Looking at the specs, I think the power rating is wrong on one as the bookshelves...

I have this Pioneer sub, and it sounds pretty good. I bought it mainly for movies, but until I get my basement finished, it has only been used for music. That said, it sounds good but lacks the...

I have the towers and the Center. AMAZING Speakers. They blow away everything in this price range. Read the AVS forum about it.

Any thoughts on these versus the updated 2012 models? Also, floorstanding 51s versus bookshelf 41s for the L/R of a theater system?

This Subwoofer is Active not Passive. You do not want a Passive. Active is better because it has it own power and you can adjust the bass and gain controls. Some have Front facing and down facing...

To people still on the fence. This might be the best new speaker set you can get for $300 ($220 if you skip the sub) The new line is coming, more expensive though

I'd pick everything you think you'll need in the future up now. These are the older models, so once they're gone, they're gone...I picked up the rear bookshelf speakers even though I'm not sure when...

Best Buy has a few of these older Pioneer series speakers on clearance, but it's a huge YMMV. The BS21s and CS21s are $35 or $40 and FS51s are $75. There are multiple threads on BB clearance items...

The port needs to be unobstructed, so the speakers cannot be flush against the wall. Of course, these can be wall mounted, as almost any speakers could be, but you may spend close to as much...

I've seen larger speakers wall mounted before but in this case I think I'll wait for another deal. Been eyeing the HTD Level 2 which I know can be wall mounted.
