I am pretty sure all 3D HDTV can be watched in 2D or 3D. usually 2D is set by default at factory then 3D enables when it detects a 3D signal from the media source.

Got this TV at Frys recently and love it. The picture quality is great, 3d is fantastic (works with the 3d glasses from the movie theater!). Does bother me that the only audio out is optical.
