It can be I think if you are commuting to places besides just between work and home (i.e., you get to work and then you start driving to other places before you get home).

I've looked into this in the past since I have a long commute and the short answer is no. The long answer is maybe, but it raises a ton of "please audit me" flags so it's not worth it.

If you are considered an employee then no. If you are considered a contractor or self employed than yes.
